I found a website called "1000milechallenge.com". I registered on the 18th January 2018 and have a year to complete the task, but for me I thought it was a good way to record my daily achievements. You can see from the white bar a target of what you should have walked, the blue bar shows your actual distance covered.

Monday 26th March: What a glorious day....only last week we had snow, and today a sunburnt face!!

Another good walk, and the first bit of good news is that my first attempt of walking with taped feet was a success. Had one little blip on my right foot due to my inexperience but corrected that half way, so that's great. Will need to practice the art of getting it on my feet better but should be fine after a few goes.

The second bit of good news is that I found the beginning of the track I was looking for......it goes pear-shaped from here I'm afraid. To get to Lyndhurst from Brockenhurst you basically need to be going in a Northerly direction. This track takes you off to the East for about a mile so every time I came to a junction in the track my inner compass said turn left, which was ok to start with, until the tracks stopped and I found myself in the wet muddy stuff again.....and eventually the last half mile or so back on the road!! Never mind, next time.

"Follow the Brockenhurst Track......"

Last big walk was Monday 22nd January. The New Forest is a cracking part of the country and I still have loads of it to explore. I found myself amongst the wet muddiness of Sway and Brockenhurst. I've walked between Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst a couple of times, the first time I thought I'd play it safe and stick to the road - turns out it wasn't safe!! No path, just a grass verge, walking head on into the traffic, me against the lorries!! This time I headed off-road. Fine to start with as I travelled parallel to the road along the campsite path but then I found myself in a boggy field. I zig zagged, and even had to double back at one stage, eventually giving in and ended up back on the road. Next time I'll try a different route!!
